About

Joe racing on the golf course that is Indian Lakes, Chicago Cross Cup 2010.

What is this site all about?

That’s easy – cyclocross in Texas. Promoting it. Encouraging it. Teaching the sport and sharing the joyful pain.

TexasCX.com is a simple operation with two current contributors:

Joe Doyle (aka @joeyTWOwheels) is the current TXBRA Cyclocross Coordinator and founder of the Chicago Cross Cup. The content you read here is all done out of my love for the sport, and my desire to see fields grow and races become more popular in the lone star state.

Minor and the future stars of Texas and Minnesota CX.

Minor Baker (aka @minorbaker) is not currently in charge of anything, but I do get the chance to contribute to the #txcx community.  Joe does this out of love, and I am only doing it for the ONE MILLION dollar signing bonus, it took to lure me off the couch.  I love racing cyclocross, regardless of how slow I do it and want to help spread the love.  I am a man who loves his family and loves to ride bikes, cyclocross is the disciple that allows me to fully enjoy both, being able to bump shoulders and ride aggressively without penalty is just another perk.

If you have suggestions – shoot Joe an email – or flag one of us down at the races. We hope to meet you there.

  1. Well, well, well. So we meet again, Joey Two Wheels.

How the heck have you been?? I sent an email to Kelly Kerby, asking him if there’s a local cyclocross club, and he points me at this guy Joe Doyle. Crazy!

Anyway, I’ve started an online magazine about outdoor recreation in Austin, and one thing I cover is local clubs. I’m not sure that’s what this is, but maybe you can explain yourself…

    • Hi Clair!

So good to hear from the most bad-ass mountain biking lady in Austin. I’ll hit you up with an email – not a club, just a news source for all things cyclocross in Texas. Love to hear more about your mag.

      Talk soon –

      Joe

  2. Joe, we met in Fredericksburg. Do y’all have any CXTX t-shirts for sale? I seem to recall some one sporting one and think they are rad!

    Jeff

    • Hey Jeff –

It was great to meet you at Tough CX.

I do have exactly one shirt left. It’s a mens XL. Let me know if you want it. I will also put up another order soon.

      Thanks, man.

      Joe

  3. My wife and I are getting transferred to Texas in the next couple of weeks and we’re hoping to get involved in the sport. I’ve had trouble finding info on clubs/groups and how to get involved.

    Can you help?
